If you are using certificate-based authentication, then we recommend that you upgrade to this release to configure certificate mappings. To address this issue the Horizon 8 2212.2 release allows administrators to configure certificate mappings to one of the strong types from the Horizon console. See the above KB for details on the full enforcement mode date. If you have applied this update to your Windows Domain Controllers and if you have not mapped certificates to one of the strong mapping types described in the Microsoft KB, then users will be denied authentication when the full enforcement mode is activated by Microsoft. WARNING: Microsoft security update ( KB 5014754) will impact customers using certificate-based authentication such as Smart Cards. For more information on the ESB and the Horizon versions that have been designated an ESB, see VMware Knowledge Base (KB) article 86477. Most importantly, there are no new features in the SP updates, so customers can rely on a stable Horizon platform for their critical deployments. By choosing to deploy an ESB, customers receive periodic service packs (SP) updates, which include cumulative critical bug fixes and security fixes. An ESB is a parallel release branch to the existing Current Releases (CR) of the product. Approximately once a year, VMware designates one VMware Horizon release as an Extended Service Branch (ESB). 21:07:10| BootStrapper-build-17553817| Copy 'C:\Users\ADMINI~1\AppData\Local\Temp\1\VMW6EFE.tmp\Core.Horiis an Extended Service Branch (ESB). 21:07:04| BootStrapper-build-17553817| PRODUCTNAME = VMware Horizon Agent ![]() 21:07:04| BootStrapper-build-17553817| Upgrade at shutdown = FALSE 21:07:04| BootStrapper-build-17553817| Silent installation = FALSE I could post the content of the larger one if it would be valuable. Technically there's 2 log files, this one the much smaller one. Below are the install logs from my latest attempt. I do have an SR open as well, but, figured I'd try the forums also. Just in case, I tried running Windows updates again, but didn't find anything new. I did notice that after running and failing, in Add/Remove programs, I have 2 new entries for Microsoft Visual C++ that weren't there prior to the run: Hoping perhaps it needed a reboot to finish something before it could proceed, and just didn't tell, but, no go on that. I'm stumped at this point.Īfter "copying new files" the status bar hangs for a bit like this:įor giggles, I tried rebooting after this message, and running it again. I've verified the system is up to date and restarted several times prior to no avail. I have seen mention that people had seen this when the system has needed a reboot for something else, perhaps Windows updates. I've tried different agent versions even, going back to 7.10.2. I've tried uninstalling tools (11.2.5) and the agent, then re-installing tools and running the agent clean, still fails. I've tried disjoining it from our domain in case some GPO is conflicting. I'm installing it logged in as local admin, which I always do, but I've also tried with my AD credentials signed in that have local admin rights. ![]() I've seen behavior like this mentioned in other posts/Google searches, but, so far different solutions I've tried have not worked. I have recently tried upgrading the agent to 7.13.1 (from 7.13), and after about 3/4 of the way, the install simply stops and rolls back. We have a Server 2012 R2 gold image we use with an RDSH instant clone farm.
